  • Job Role: Data Platform Manager

    Location: London 

    Hours: 35 hours per week- Monday to Friday 

    Emeria UK operates in the residential real estate sector through its operating brands of FirstPort, Innovus, Knight Square and Campions. As the Payroll Administrator you will be contributing to Emeria’s vision to be the leader of residential real estate services in the UK & Ireland

    We are seeking an experienced Data Platform Manager to lead our data platform team and implement the organisation's next-generation data platform capabilities.

    Reporting to the Head of Data & Analytics, the role combines people leadership, platform implementation and strong technical contribution. The Data Platform Manager will work closely with Group colleagues to apply shared standards and principles within the UK organisation, while contributing practical expertise and informed challenge to their continued development.

    The platform will provide governed, scalable data foundations for business intelligence, analytics engineering, data science, AI interoperability and relevant enterprise architecture use cases. Business Intelligence and broader Analytics capabilities are managed by separate teams.

    Key Accountabilities

    Data Engineering and Analytics Engineering

    • Oversee reliable ingestion, transformation, orchestration, modelling and lifecycle management across the data platform.
    • Implement a medallion architecture that supports trusted, reusable and well-governed data assets.
    • Establish effective engineering practices for version control, automated testing, deployment and operational support.
    • Lead analytics engineering practices, including dimensional modelling, semantic modelling, shared metrics and curated business-facing data products, partnering with consuming teams to ensure platform outputs are usable, dependable and aligned to agreed requirements.
     Team Leadership
    • Lead, coach and develop a cross-functional team spanning Data Engineering and Analytics Engineering.
    • Build an accountable, collaborative culture focused on quality, reliability and continuous improvement.
    • Plan team capacity, identify capability gaps and support recruitment and succession planning.
     Platform Implementation and Ownership
    • Lead the local implementation and ongoing operation of the Group-provided data platform and reference architecture.
    • Contribute strong technical expertise, implementation feedback and constructive challenge to the evolution of Group data platform standards and principles.
    • Own delivery planning, technical prioritisation, service performance and continuous improvement for the data platform.
    • Own the platform's integration with key data governance, catalogue, lineage, data quality and master data capabilities.
     Person Specification

    Experience

    • Proven experience leading Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering or modern data platform teams.
    • Experience contributing to the development of shared architecture standards, principles and engineering patterns through practical delivery expertise.
    • Experience implementing & managing data warehouse, lakehouse or medallion architecture patterns.
    • Experience working effectively with senior stakeholders, Enterprise Architecture, governance functions and specialist technology teams.
     Technical Skills
    • Expert knowledge of data ingestion, transformation, orchestration, SQL-based development and software engineering practices.
    • Expert understanding of modern data platform architecture, dimensional modelling, and business-facing analytical data design.
    • Ability to implement centrally defined architectures while identifying local requirements, delivery risks and opportunities for improvement.
    • Knowledge of version control, automated testing, deployment automation, monitoring and operational support.
    • Knowledge of data quality, metadata, lineage, master data, information security and data governance principles.
    • Understanding of the data foundations required to support business intelligence, data science and AI interoperability.
     Qualifications and Desirable Experience
    • Relevant degree, professional qualification or equivalent practical experience in data, technology, engineering or a related discipline.
    • Knowledge of domain-oriented ownership and data product concepts.
    • Experience operating in complex, multi-system or acquisitive enterprise environments.
     Measures of Success
    • Implement the Group-provided data platform architecture effectively within the UK organisation.
    • Establish a scalable and governed medallion architecture supporting business intelligence, analytics engineering, data science and AI interoperability.
    • Ensure reliable integration between the data platform and key governance capabilities.
    • Improve data quality, lineage, discoverability, reliability and trust.
    • Enable the delivery of reusable analytics engineering data products for downstream consumers.
    • Build an engaged, high-performing Data Engineering and Analytics Engineering team.
    • Maintain a secure, reliable and cost-effective platform aligned with Group standards and UK priorities.
